Personally, I have experienced many mental, physical and emotional benefits of yoga. It incorporates breathing exercises, meditation and poses designed to encourage relaxation and reduce stress.
Yoga can also improve sleep quality, enhance spiritual well-being, improve social function and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. This may be because yoga is able to decrease levels of cortisol, a stress hormone that influences levels of serotonin, the neurotransmitter often associated with depression and mental anguish.
I recommend you practice yoga a couple times a week so that you too may experience some or all of the following benefits of yoga:
